⚠️ Draft for review. This policy describes how the app currently works, but it should be reviewed by a qualified professional (and a Grievance Officer named) before public launch, especially as it concerns sensitive personal data.

1. Overview

Sārathi ("we", "us"), operated by Ravari Labs, helps you reflect on life through the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gītā. We take your privacy seriously — especially because what you share can be personal. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

2. Information we collect

Account information — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and a unique user ID (via Firebase Authentication).
Your conversations — the messages you send and the responses Sārathi gives, so your sessions persist and you can return to them.
Consent & preferences — a record that you accepted these terms, when, and whether you opted in to updates.
Technical/usage data — basic request logs (e.g. timestamps, approximate latency) used to operate and protect the Service.

3. How we use your information

to provide the Service — generate responses, save your conversations, and keep them yours;
to keep the Service secure, reliable, and free from abuse;
to send you updates only if you opted in (you can opt out any time).

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Sensitive content

Conversations with Sārathi may touch on emotional or personal matters. We treat this content with care, restrict access to it, and store it only to provide the Service to you. It is private to your account — other users cannot see it.

5. Service providers & AI processing

We use trusted providers to run the Service:

Google Cloud / Firebase — hosting, authentication, and database (your conversations are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, in the India region).
Google Gemini API — your messages are sent to Google's Gemini AI to generate the guru's text and voice responses. They are processed to produce your reply.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments.

6. Storage & security

Data is stored in Google Cloud (India region), encrypted at rest and in transit (HTTPS), and access is gated by sign-in. Each user's conversations are isolated to their own account.

7. Retention

We keep your conversations until you delete them or your account. You can delete any conversation in the app at any time. Contact us to delete your account and associated data.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

9. Children

The Service is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be accompanied by a fresh request for your consent.
